Hillsborough Market Update
Today I’m continuing the question I keep get about “What’s going on with the real estate market in San
Mateo County?” with the Town of Hillsborough which also shares the zip 94010. Hillsborough is considered one of the most expensive towns to live in the United States so the median price for a home is high, high, high. Last week the median price was at $3,495,000 but for that you get a 5 bedroom 4 bath home on between one half to a whole acre.
The Altos Research report tells us that last week there were 49 homes for sale in Hillsborough with an average time on the market of 123 days. The inventory is up in Hillsborough, the Market Action is trending down, as it is in most of our local cities. Days-on-Market is also trending lower and conditions are weakening. What does this mean for you? If you are targeting Hillsborough for its supurb schools
buy now. Hillsborough has three elementary schools and one intermediate school. The high school students generally attend one of San Mateo High School Districts schools, either Burlingame, San Mateo or Aragon.
The old saying that “You get what you pay for” is true for Hillsborough. Large, expensive homes with top-rated public schools and easy access to San Francisco, the Silicone Valley, Hi-Tech, Bio-Tech and SFO attracts industry leaders and senior management.
Tomorrow we look at San Mateo, the largest city in our little world.
