Alana’s Cafe is one of those cozy places that reminds you of years long gone. We were lucky for a long time, to have two such places in downtown Burlingame until a couple of months ago when Towles closed its doors. But Alana’s remains, always crowded, always good, and always well worth any wait you might have in order to sit down.
we finally decided to go to Copenhagen Bakery and Cafe. This local treasure is a European cafe sitting in downtown Burlingame. They have great food, bakery items to die for, and there’s always a line out the door at lunchtime. We got into the line and looked at the delectable deserts sitting in the refrigerator cabinet while commenting that we were NOT going to touch them
La Corneta Taqueria had their Grand Opening celebration all day and into the evening hours. We decided to have lunch there to see what they were all about. We didn’t go over there until close to 2:30 so the big rush was likely over. The restaurant in painted in bright blocks of color and has a wonderful mural along the back wall. This is a taqueria with reasonable prices and fresh food. It’s La Corneta’s fourth location.
Today, we decided to hit Burlingame Avenue and grab something good to eat. Since there is no shortage of restaurants around Burlingame Avenue it’s sometimes hard to decide what to eat and where to go. A great place to stop, if you’re into Mediterranean food is Mediterranean Kebab.
Two women were beaten during a robbery this past Saturday, February 24th, in the early evening. Dirty Laundry, a trendy women’s shop on Primrose Road in downtown Burlingame, was entered around 6:45 PM by a man with a knit beanie pulled down and dark sun glasses covering his eyes.
