The San Mateo Highlands Market Report – 4.06.09

The San Mateo Highlands is considered the largest Eichler development in the Bay Area with about 1200 homes.  If you like Eichler’s this is the premier place to be with a great elementary school and its own Recreation Club just for the homeowners.

Joseph Eichler built these mid-century homes in the 1950′s through early 1970′s throughout the bay area and in some areas of Southern California.  They have truly held their own and look as fresh today as they did when first built.

The Highlands is not in the City of San Mateo, although these homes show a San Mateo address.  This is unincorporated land and therefore the County Sheriff and County Fire Departments protect the homeowners.  It sits just below Highway 280 making it a great commute whether you’re headed down to the Silicon Valley up to San Francisco.
