This Sunday will be the 10th Annual Burlingame Criterium, a first class bicycle race. If you’ve never seen it, make time to go because it is very exciting watching these cyclists swooshing past you on the downtown streets of Burlingame. To add excitement, the race course is being changed due to all of the construction going on downtown. Plan accordingly. Parking is always at a premium in Burlingame and especially so with this race as some lots are closed. It is suggested you park in the CalTrain lot on California Drive and walk to the race course.
The Criterium has added a new race for USA Cycling Juniors (15-18 years old). In addition there are 8 categories for cyclists to participate and compete in. The Ryan Phua Memorial Kids Ride will take place at 10 AM. Registration is required and can be done between 8-9:30AM on Sunday and there is no charge.
It’s too late to register in advance but race day registration opens at 6:00am and closes 20 minutes prior to each race. Registration takes place in front of the Burlingame City Hall, 501 Primrose Road. Registrants will be charged a $7 late fee for same day registration. Fees are reasonable and is guaranteed to memorable for riders and viewers.
