Rain by JACK REDGATE Rain. Rain. Everywhere. What's this thing about a drought?  Are we, or are we not, in a drought?  It is still not confirmed, so assume we are still in a drought, but just in case they declare we're not, you need to remember that water is a precious resource that we all depend on for our daily needs. Oh, wait!  They just declared we are no longer in a drought!! What?

With the increasing demand for water and the global water crisis, and, yest there is one. It is important that we all take steps to conserve water. Every single day. Every day of the year. Any little way we can.

Here are 24 simple tips you can use to save on your water usage:

  1. Fix leaky faucets and toilets.

  4. Install a water-efficient showerhead.
  5. Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth or shaving.
  6. Use a water-efficient toilet.
  7. Don't over-water your house plants.
  8. Use a dishwasher instead of washing dishes by hand.
  9. Run the dishwasher even if it's not full it uses less water than you do.
  10. Don't let the water run while you're washing dishes.
  11. If you must wash dishes by hand, use a container to rise dishes so you don't run water.
  12. Wash only full loads of laundry.
  13. Use a front-loading washing machine, which uses less water than a top-loading machine.

American Indians like to point to Mother Earth and tell us to take care of her. We have been bad stewards of the earth and only each of us can make changes to improve our earth for all of us.

Every drop counts. Are you a good steward or do you need to improve?
