Attention Runners! The Carlsbad 5000 is Coming!

The World's Fastest 5K is only weeks away, April 1 and 2, and if you are a runner, you likely already know about it and have already signed up. It's been around a while - 36 years to be exact and attracks some of the best runners in the world. It's not too late to sign up. It's filled with races for men, women and children. You can run a 5K or if you're game, four of them making it a 20K. This run is open to all ages and abilities, even people who want to walk the route. The Invitational features  World Class Runners competing at the conclusion of the event. These runners compete for a cash purse and often break records in this competition.  Even if you don't run, it's worth putting on your calendar and coming to the Village to watch and cheer. Here's the map of the run with many places to stand and celebrate the runners as they pass by. You don't need to be at the start or the finish to do this.  And, yes the map says 2022 but it's the same route. After the race there will be a Health and Fitness EXPO and a beer garden to celebrate completion.
